How Long Before Pakistan’s Nuclear Weapons Fall Into Jihadist Hands?

“Pakistan is the most dangerous country in the world,” Michael Morell, a former acting Central Intelligence Agency director told Axios recently. Not only is Pakistan one of the nine nations that possess nuclear weapons, it is also a hotbed of intensifying Islamic radicalism that places the security of those weapons in question.

“[A]nti-state jihadist extremism is growing in Pakistan,” Morell said, “creating the nightmare society down the road: an extremist government in Islamabad with nuclear weapons.”

Several factors combine to make the situation in Pakistan a perfect storm that could culminate in a nuclear thunderbolt.

Iran Stations Ballistic Missiles in Iraq

Iran has been stationing missiles in Iraq, according to a recent blockbuster report published by Reuters, titled “Exclusive: Iran Moves Missiles to Iraq in Warning to Enemies.” These missiles are well within reach of Saudi Arabia and Israel, including the capital cities of both countries.

In 1994, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry predicted that Iraq would fall to Iran. It seemed unlikely then, but Iran now controls Iraq so completely that it can send in ballistic missiles and set up missile factories, and there’s nothing the Iraqi government can do to stop them, even if it wanted to.

What Germany Is Doing in Iraq

The German government has refused to take part in a nato-led mission aimed at strengthening Iraq’s army. That’s because nato will strengthen Iraq’s army and pro-Iranian militia that have been integrated into that army.

Instead of working with nato in Iraq, Germany has its own independent training mission. Its aim is to provide Iraq’s military with the necessary training, leadership, counsel and guidance in a manner that makes it independent from Iran’s influence. Its mission will also train anti-Iranian Kurdish forces in northern Iraq and connect them with Iraq’s central government.

Germany is determined to gain greater influence not only in Iraq but in the entire Mideast region. Opposing Iran is one of its means to that end.

India’s Deals With Iran and Russia Defy U.S. Sanctions

India’s central government has granted permission for state refiners to continue imports of Iranian oil despite United States sanctions, Reuters reported on September 3. The move closely follows India’s decision to proceed with a major weapons purchase from Russia, despite U.S. sanctions against such transactions.

These deals show that India may be preparing to pivot away from the U.S.

Japan Faces Worst Typhoon Since 1993

A massive typhoon slammed Japan’s western coast on Tuesday, killing at least 10 people and injuring more than 400. Typhoon Jebi has carved a trail of devastation through the middle of Japan, bringing heavy rains and winds of up to 135 miles per hour. About 1.2 million people in western and central Japan were advised to evacuate before the storm hit. In some areas, nearly 20 inches of rain fell in 24 hours.

Japan is not the only country that has been affected by several major natural disasters this year. Nations across the globe have suffered massive earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons, volcanoes, floods and wildfires. These days, disasters that are labeled the “worst ever,” “worst on record” and “worst in history” have become all too common.

This increase in severe disasters was actually prophesied in the Bible.
