This Week: Five Events You Need to Know (September 17)

Germany’s rise, China’s potential death blow to the dollar, and more

Here are five of the most important news stories this week, as well as relevant links to the full articles and videos here on theTrumpet.com.

Why Won’t God Bless America?

In the immediate aftermath of terrorist attack on September 11, 2001, God seemed to be everywhere: on signs, in song, at school and sporting events, in government.

A few hours after America’s worst terrorist attack, 16 years ago, members of Congress, from both sides of the aisle, who were gathered on the East Front steps of the Capitol, spontaneously broke into an emotional rendition of “God Bless America.”

God can indeed bless America; He promised to do so in Deuteronomy 11:26-28 . And He also promised in the same chapter to curse America. All people who believe in God need to understand what it is that inspires Him to bless us and what it is that obliges Him to not bless us.

A More Powerful, More Assertive, More Terrifying Germany Is Coming!

Susanne Beyer, editor in chief of Der Spiegel, wrote that Germany “is boiling under the surface. There is hatred against Merkel, especially in east Germany. There is hatred on the Internet for everything and everyone, especially the elites. There is hatred in the streets, especially for those of darker skin.”

That is why far-right and far-left parties like the Alternative for Germany and Die Linke are growing stronger. And as international relations expert George Friedman once wrote, “In Berlin at least, the German political system has shattered. … [T]he European foundation—Germany—is moving toward a major political crisis that will resonate .”

That crisis will eventually explode and initiate a course of events that will bring about the rise of a new, more powerful, more assertive, more terrifying Germany! It will worsen if Angela Merkel is reelected on September 24.

Where Is the Praise for Israel’s Attack on Assad’s Chemical Weapons Facility?

On September 7, Israeli missiles struck and destroyed a Syrian military site known for its production and development of chemical weapons—and the international community was largely silent about it.

Experts had reported that the site was frequented by Iranian chemical weapons specialists and Hezbollah operatives. The United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria had released a statement a day before the attack saying it had compiled extensive evidence to show that Syrian forces had used chemical weapons 20 times during the Syrian civil war. This included the Sarin gas attack on Khan Sheikhun in April, which killed 83 Syrians.

Logic and Bible prophecy show that Israel will not bomb every terrorist outpost in the Middle East unilaterally. The Bible indicates that Israel will be so desperate and isolated that it will seek help from an unlikely ally that is committed to fighting terrorism, among its other ambitious goals.

China’s New Gold-Backed Oil Benchmark to Deal Blow to U.S. Dollar

The Nikkei Asian Review reported on September 1 that China will soon introduce a crude oil futures contract denominated in yuan and convertible into gold. Such a move by the world’s largest oil importer could deal a major blow to the global influence of the United States dollar . And a death blow to the dollar has spectacular prophetic ramifications.

Encouraging Gender Fluidity Is Child Abuse

It is not entirely unusual for a 2-year-old, just learning to talk, to occasionally mix up pronouns concerning gender. Just like it is not uncommon for a 2-year-old boy playing with a sister to pick up a pink purse or doll and play with it. This innocence is a form of transgenderism that most parents have naturally corrected to guide their children. Encouraging it introduces confusion into a child’s mind concerning sexual identity. And it is extremely harmful.
